World Athletics Championships 2022 medal count: United States up to 19; Ethiopia next at 8 (through Day 6)

Bin Feng gave China a gold medal in the women’s discus on Wednesday night, while Norah Jeruto won the women’s 3,000-meter steeplechase to earn Kazakhstan its first medal of any color at these World Athletics Championships.

Ethiopia tacked on two more medals, with a silver and bronze in the steeplechase, to up its total to eight through six days of the 10-day competition at Hayward Field in Eugene.

The United States remains well ahead of second-place Ethiopia in the medals table, however. The Americans picked up their 19th medal of the world championships Wednesday as Valarie Allman took the bronze in the women’s discus.
