Damian Lillard joined elite company on Sunday night, becoming the eighth player in NBA history to score 70 points in a single game as he carried the Portland Trail Blazers to a 131-114 victory against the Houston Rockets.
Lillard blew away his previous career high of 61 points. He racked up 41 points in the first half, had 50 by the end of the third quarter and poured in 21 more in the fourth to finish with 71 points in 39 minutes. It was the most points scored in under 40 minutes in NBA history.
