For the second time this season, frigid weather has forced the Oregon State Beavers to change the time of a baseball game.
The Beavers’ next outing, a Tuesday night matchup against the San Diego Toreros at Goss Stadium, has been moved to 3:05 p.m. to avoid potential freezing temperatures in the evening forecast.
Freezing weather also forced No. 25 Oregon State to start last month’s home opener earlier than originally planned.
The Beavers (9-2) won that game — and five of the next six — to cruise through the bulk of their nonconference schedule. After hosting the Toreros Tuesday, OSU will play its first Pac-12 series of the season against Washington State starting Friday night.
The Beavers are coming off a four-game series at Cal Poly, during which they won three of four games, solidifying their place in the top 25 of all six major college baseball polls.
