Mike Hughes, a Jesuit alumnus who held the position of athletic director for the last 18 years, notified the school’s administration this spring that he intended to step down. In his place, Colin Griffin — a fellow Crusader alum and the school’s baseball coach since 2014 — has been chosen to take the mantle.
Griffin said he received abundant support from the community, administration and fellow coaches throughout the process, noting that Hughes, himself, has been a mentor to him for years.
