A Sunday afternoon shooting left one man dead in Southeast Portland, police said.
Portland police released few details in the immediate aftermath of the shooting, which occurred shortly before 4:30 p.m. in the 1500 block of Southeast 174th Avenue.
East Precinct officers responding to reports of a shooting in the Centennial neighborhood found a deceased man, police said in a news release. No suspects have been arrested or detained.
Police said 174th has been closed from Southeast Main Street to Mill Street during the investigation. Police said the identity of the victim will be released after the Medical Examiner has confirmed cause of death and family members have been notified.
