A 36-year-old Portland man was arrested Wednesday on a murder charge in a fatal shooting outside a Beaverton strip club five years ago, police said.
Jimmy Pierce was arrested by U.S. marshals at about 2 p.m. near Southeast Bush Street and 112th Avenue in the May 19, 2017, killing of 34-year-old Ramon Harris, police said.
Harris was celebrating a friend’s birthday when he was shot several times outside Xpose Club at 10270 S.W. Canyon Road.
Police at the time said they believed Harris was targeted. They have not released the connection between Pierce and Harris or what led up to the shooting.
A Washington County grand jury returned an indictment in April and investigators sought an arrest warrant.
Pierce was booked into the Multnomah County Detention Center on charges of second-degree murder, unlawful use of a weapon and felon in possession of a gun, police said.
Court records show Pierce was convicted in 2015 of felony assault and in 2018 of being a felon in possession of a gun.
