Johnny Was, a California-based high-end women’s clothing brand specializing in boho-chic fashion, will be opening a store at the Bridgeport Village mall this July.
The new 2,000-square-foot boutique will feature Johnny Was’ collection of dresses, swimwear, denim jackets, knits, handbags and jewelry, among other items, according to a news release.
While stores in the Portland-area have carried the brand’s clothing “for many years,” the new storefront will be the clothing company’s first outpost in Oregon, CEO Rob Trauber said in a statement.
Johnny Was, founded in 1987 in Los Angeles, has expanded rapidly since Portland private equity firm Endeavour Capital acquired a majority stake in 2015. The clothing company has more than 40 store locations across the United States, from as far east as Massachusetts to as west as Hawaii.
