A motorcyclist was killed in a collision with a SUV Monday night in Fairview, deputies say.
Sheriff’s deputies responded to reports of a crash a little after 9 p.m. involving a midsize SUV and a motorcycle on Northeast Fairview Parkway near the Interstate 84 westbound onramp, the Multnomah County Sheriff’s Office said in a news release.
The motorcyclist was traveling north on the parkway when he collided with the SUV as it was making a left turn onto the interstate onramp, sheriff’s officials said.
The SUV was heading southbound before making a turn onto the onramp, said sheriff’s office spokesperson Christina Kempster.
The motorcyclist, identified as Maksim Mishuk, 24, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Sheriff’s officials said they believe the speed of the motorcycle was a factor in the crash. The SUV driver was cooperating with the investigation, they said.
