The much-anticipated premiere of Marvel’s new superhero series, Obi-Wan Kenobi, is upon us. The new show, starring Ewan McGregor, debuts at midnight on Friday, May 27 and is streaming exclusively on Disney Plus, Disney’s streaming platform.

This new series will introduce fans of the Star Wars Universe, both old and new, to a beloved cult figure in the story. The show on Jedi Master Obi-Wan Kenobi and takes place 10 years after the dramatic events of “Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith” where Obi-Wan Kenobi faced a crushing defeat: The defection of his best friend and Jedi apprentice, Anakin Skywalker, who becomes evil Sith Lord Darth Vader. The new series is set during the reign of the Empire, when a young Jedi named Nari is on a mission to track down Obi-Wan Kenobi.

Will there be a Season 2 of Obi-Wan Kenobi? Ewan McGregor says he is committed to doing another season as long as Disney signs off on the project, but studio head Kathleen Kennedy has yet to confirm the extension of the show. “It’s certainly something we talk about,” she told Entertainment Weekly when asked directly about a Season 2.
