Oregon extended its win streak to 10 games heading into this weekend’s series with Oregon State.
Sabin Ceballos hit a three-run home run and Tanner Smith and Bennett Thompson each drove in a pair for the No. 25 Ducks in a 9-1 win over Portland Tuesday night at PK Park.
It was the fifth straight game with an RBI for Ceballos, whose sixth home run of the season gave Oregon (19-7) a 3-0 lead in the first.
Jake Holcroft hit a solo home run in the third for Portland (17-11), which scattered its five other hits, all singles.
The Ducks capitalized on Drew Cowley working a two-out walk in the bottom of the third as two batters later Smith singled him in and followed by another walk, Thompson hit a two-run double to make it 6-1.
Smith singled in Cowley again in the fourth.
A balk allowed a run to score and Rikuu Nishida added an RBI double in the seventh.
Jackson Pace allowed a run on three hits and two walks with one strikeout over 3.1 innings in a no-decision for UO. Turner Spoljaric (2-0) allowed two hits over 3.2 scoreless innings to pick up the win and Dylan McShane and Jacob Hughes each threw scoreless innings of relief.
