Members of Oregon’s congressional delegation have introduced a bill that would restore land rights to Oregon’s Grand Ronde Reservation, amending a decades-old decision that left the Tribe unable to make additional land claims and seek compensation for government survey errors.
U.S. Rep. Andrea Salinas and Sen. Jeff Merkley, D-OR, aim to amend the Grand Ronde Reservation Act to restore the Tribe’s rights to make additional land claims. It’s Salinas’ first piece of legislation since being elected to Oregon’s 6th District seat.
