The Beavers and Redhawks are playing for the seventh time since Seattle reinstated its program in 2010. OSU holds a 5-1 edge in the previous six games, which includes an 8-3 win last season.

This and that: The Beavers, who took two of three games from the Cal Bears over the weekend, are coming off their first series win in conference play this season. … They won the rubber match 2-1 on a walk-off wild pitch, as Travis Bazzana scored the game-winner when an errant 1-0 toss to Gavin Turley skipped to the backstop in the bottom of the ninth. … The offense remains in a funk, however, as the Beavers produced just two runs and seven hits, while leaving 13 runners on base. In 17 March games, Oregon State is batting just .225 and has scored 81 runs, an average of 4.8 per game. … Bazzana and Mikey Kane each had two hits in Sunday’s win and Bazzana is now tied with Micah McDowell with a team-best eight multi-hit games. Kane has seven. … Even through their struggles, the Beavers have been patient at the plate — they lead the Pac-12 with 146 walks, an average of more than six per game. … Garret Forrester has a team-high 24 walks and Bazzana has 23, which put them at the top of the conference rankings. Forrester moved into second place on the Beavers’ all-time walk list over the weekend. He has 121 in two-plus seasons, trailing only Adley Rutschman (156). … Today’s game is the first of four in the Seattle area for OSU, which opens a three-game series at the Washington Huskies on Friday. … The Beavers are 9-8 in March and need one win in the next two games to lock a winning month.
