CORVALLIS — The Oregon State Beavers play the Vanderbilt Commodores Sunday at 6 p.m. in the Corvallis Regional at Goss Stadium.
Oregon State, the No. 3 national seed top seed in the regional, earned a date in the final by defeating New Mexico State and San Diego in the first two days of the double-elimination tournament. A win tonight would advance the Beavers to the super regionals next weekend.
Vanderbilt, on the other hand, has been fighting to avoid elimination since losing its opener on Friday, clawing back through the losers’ bracket to earn a matchup against the Beavers.
The second-seeded Commodores needed a 14-4 win over San Diego earlier Sunday to stay alive, and will be playing for the second time today against OSU. If Vanderbilt wins, the teams would play again Monday afternoon in a win-or-go-home game.
