Oregon voters will decide whether to kick off a process that could raise salaries for state officials including lawmakers, the governor and secretary of state under a bill that cleared the Legislature Sunday.
Senate Joint Resolution 34 will ask voters to decide in November 2024 whether the state should create an independent commission to review and decide pay for those positions as well as attorney general, treasurer, state Supreme Court judges, district attorneys and others. If approved, the measure would amend the state Constitution.
