Pounding drums thundered through Oregon State University’s Gill Coliseum Saturday, for the 44th Annual Klatowa Ina Competition Powwow.
The show included hundreds of Indigenous performers and singers in regalia.
The event, presented by the Native American Student Association and Kaku-Ixt Mana Ina Haws in collaboration with the Division of Student Affairs, was free to the community, included vendors, and ran from 1-6 p.m.
Competitions included the Jingle, Grassdance, Women’s Fancy, Men’s Fancy, Women’s Traditional, and Men’s Traditional. Awards ranging from $500 to $1,000 were given in each competition.
