In a matchup that some likely thought would come later in the state tournament, the Sherwood softball team picked up a 5-3 win over McNary in the second round of the OSAA Class 6A playoffs on Wednesday in Sherwood.
Sherwood (21-6) will have a matchup with Pacific Conference rival McMinnville on Friday in the state quarterfinals.
