Portland police on Friday identified a woman shot to death in the Powellhurst-Gilbert neighborhood this week as Laura Guerrero-Rafaela, 41, of Portland.
Police said they have made no arrests in her killing.
Officers found Guerrero-Rafaela when they responded to a shooting call about 5:30 p.m. Wednesday in the 5500 block of Southeast 111th Avenue, police said. She died at the scene, they said.
Guerrero-Rafaela’s killing was the 50th homicide in Portland so far this year, according to an analysis by The Oregonian/OregonLive. Last year, when the city recorded a record 101 homicides, 53 people had died in homicides by the same date. In both years, most people were killed in shootings.
Guerrero-Rafaela was the third person shot and killed in Portland since Saturday.
