The Portland Trail Blazers will begin summer league play in Las Vegas on July 7 against the Detroit Pistons, according to the schedule released Monday by the NBA.
The Blazers have four summer league games scheduled for the session that runs through July 17 with games to be played at the Thomas & Mack Center and Cox Pavilion.
The two teams with the best record will play in the championship game on July 17. The other 28 teams will then play a fifth game on either July 16 or July 17.
The Blazers have the No. 7 pick in Thursday’s NBA Draft. Should they keep the pick, that selection would likely make his Blazers debut during summer league play. The Blazers also have picks No. 36 and No. 51 in the second round.
Portland played a glut of young players last season, especially in the final two months when regulars were injured. Most of those inexperienced and developing players should be on display during the summer.
Expect to see Greg Brown III, CJ Elleby, Keon Johnson, Brandon Williams and Trendon Watford, just to name a handful.
