Enough already! In 40 years of public agency service, I have not seen the level of mismanagement experienced by Multnomah County in the past year with the Joint Office of Homeless Services (“Portland-Multnomah County joint office reports ‘unacceptable’ underspending of tax revenue to fund homeless services,” May 16), and the Multnomah County Animal Shelter, (“Audit finds Multnomah County animal shelter failed for years to spend donor money earmarked for veterinary services, outreach,” June 9). Stop with the committee meetings already and take action. Those responsible should be shown the door, and that includes managers, staffers and commissioners. Otherwise, history will just repeat itself.
