It’s heartening to hear that Cascadia Health CEO Derald Walker has decided to perform a safety assessment of working conditions at the mental health service after the stabbing death of health aide Haley Rogers, (“Man accused of stabbing mental health aide to death in Gresham group home pleads not guilty,” July 17). The brutal and fatal stabbing of an employee apparently awakened his concern. The irony is heartbreaking.
