The Story Behind The Amaretto Sour
When you can’t choose between sweet and sour, the Amaretto Sour’s here for you. Despite its use of Italian liqueur, many believe the drink was originally created in the United States sometime in the 1970s.
It’s not hard to see why this cocktail’s become so commonplace over the years — the almond nuttiness of Amaretto is enhanced by the bright citrus flavors of lemon and orange. Together, they intertwine into a drink that’s rich and succulent all at once (and slightly reminiscent of a sweet and crunchy biscotti.)
