The Portland Trail Blazers did not extend a qualifying offer to Cam Reddish before the deadline to do so came and went on Thursday making the forward an unrestricted free agent.
Reddish was acquired from the New York Knicks during a multi-team deal at last season’s trade deadline. In the deal, the Blazers sent Josh Hart to the Knicks for Reddish and what turned out to be the 23rd pick in the last week’s draft. The Blazers used the pick to select forward Kris Murray out of Iowa.
In that same trade, the Blazers obtained guard Matisse Thybulle from Philadelphia. The Blazers on Wednesday made Thybulle a qualifying offer estimated to be worth $6.3 million making him a restricted free agent.
Reddish, the 10th overall pick during the 2019 NBA draft, would have commanded a qualifying offer of $7.4 million.
Reddish, in 20 games with the Blazers, made 12 starts and averaged 11.0 points and 2.9 rebounds per game. He shot 44.3% from the field but just 31.8% on threes.
The Blazers also declined to exercise the $3 million club option on forward Kevin Knox.
The Blazers have until Friday to guarantee Trendon Watford’s $1.8 million deal for next season.
