Oregon contained UCLA’s multiple weapons for 30 minutes, then Tyger Campbell and Jaime Jaquez Jr. took over to send the top-seeded Bruins to the Pac-12 tournament championship game and ensure the Ducks are bound for a second straight NIT appearance.
Campbell had 20 of his career-high 28 points in the second half and Jaquez, the conference Player of the Year, added 18 points and 10 rebounds for No. 1 seed UCLA in a 75-56 win over No. 4 seed Oregon in the semifinals of the Pac-12 men’s basketball tournament Friday night at T-Mobile Arena.
Will Richardson had 10 points, eight rebounds and three assists and Quincy Guerrier had 10 points for the Ducks (19-14), who will await their seeding in the NIT during that tournament’s selection show Sunday (6 p.m., ESPNU).
The Bruins (29-4) advance to face the winner of No. 2 seed Arizona and No. 6 seed Arizona State in the Pac-12 tournament championship game Saturday (7:30 p.m., ESPN).
