The sound echoes around the mezzanine at Memorial Union three or four days a week, casting a sweet, elegant ambiance for students studying on the Oregon State campus.
On a busy night, there might be 40 people hanging out in the main lounge, hypnotized by the timbre and complexity of the tunes. Some will saunter up to the old Steinway and investigate, offering compliments and asking the performer how long he’s been playing. Other nights, it’s just the performer and the piano in the great room, alone with the keys and his thoughts.
