The Multnomah County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a suspicious death after finding a Longview woman dead near Ainsworth State Park in east Multnomah County.
The body of Charity Lynn Perry was discovered shortly after 1:30 p.m. Monday in a culvert near East Historic Columbia River Highway and Northeast Tumalt Road, the sheriff’s office said in a statement Thursday.
Perry was frequently seen near Southwest Washington Street and Fourth Avenue in downtown Portland at the beginning of March, according to the statement.
That area is home to the Washington Center building, the site of a former open-air fentanyl market that was cleared by police earlier this month after 11 people overdosed in one night in that area – three fatally.
The sheriff’s office did not provide additional information, including Perry’s age.
Investigators asked anyone who knew Perry or has information about her death to contact the Multnomah County Sheriff’s Office’s tip line at 503-988-0560.
