Free-agent forward Joe Ingles has agreed to a 1-year deal with the Milwaukee Bucks worth $6.5 million, his wife Renae Ingles revealed on Twitter.
The Blazers acquired Ingles, 34, from the Utah Jazz in a three-team trade in February.
He came to Portland with an expiring contract worth $12 million and was already out for the season with a torn anterior cruciate ligament.
In the deal, the Blazers received Ingles, Elijah Hughes and a second-round pick, while sending guard Nickeil Alexander-Walker to Utah. San Antonio sent Juancho Hernangomez to the Jazz and received Tomas Satoransky from the Blazers and a second-round pick from the Jazz.
Satoransky and Alexander-Walker were acquired by Portland in a deal that also brought back Josh Hart, a $21 million trade exception and draft picks for CJ McCollum, Tony Snell and Larry Nance Jr.
It seemed unlikely that the Blazers would re-sign Ingles, although general manager Joe Cronin said at the trade deadline that the franchise valued the eight-year veteran’s Bird Rights.
Multiple outlets reported that Ingles had reached a deal with the Bucks and the news was verified by his widfe, who tweeted: “Sources very close to free agent @Joeingles7 can confirm that he has agreed to a one-year deal with the Milwaukee Bucks.”
