Minnesota Vikings rookie wide receiver Jordan Addison was cited for speeding and reckless driving when he was pulled over for driving 140 mph in a 55-mph zone last week.
Addison’s reason for driving at a high speed? He claimed his “dog was having an emergency at his residence,” according to espn.com.
Addison, driving a Lamborghini Urus SUV, was pulled over by Minnesota State Patrol officers on Interstate 94 at 3:30 a.m. on June 20 in St. Paul, according to the police report. Addison, 21, issued a statement apologizing for the incident the following day.
“Yesterday morning I made a mistake and used poor judgment,” Addison said in his statement. “I recognize and own that. I am going to learn from this and not repeat the behavior. I am truly sorry.”
Addison was the Vikings’ first-round pick (No. 23) by the Vikings in the 2023 NFL Draft. Addison is projected to be the Vikings’ No. 2 receiver behind Justin Jefferson after Adam Thielen signed with the Carolina Panthers.
