Oregon was swept at home for the first time since 2019, scoring just one run in two losses to UC Santa Barbara on Saturday.
The No. 19 Ducks managed just two hits and gave up five solo home runs in a 10-0 shutout to open the day and the bullpen gave up four extra-base hits in a 4-1 loss to the Gauchos to cap the day at PK Park.
Leo Uelmen gave up four runs, three earned, on seven hits and two walks with five strikeouts over 4.0 innings in the opening loss. He gave up solo home runs in the second and fourth that got the scoring started for UCSB, which added two more runs in the fourth, two in the fifth on a single by Corey Nunez and a run in the sixth via a balk to make it 7-0.
Gus Rogers gave up three solo homers in the eighth.
Matt Ager allowed just two singles to Owen Diodoti and Josiah Cromwick in the fourth and three walks with nine strikeouts over 6.0 scoreless innings for the Gauchos. Tyler Bremner struck out seven over 3.0 perfect innings for the save.
In the second game, UCSB got on the board via a sacrifice fly in the second and Justin Trimble added a two-run home run in the top of the fourth. Sabin Ceballos got a run back for Oregon (4-3) in the bottom of the frame with an RBI double, but it was the only runs the Ducks would score off Reed Moring.
The Gauchos starter allowed the one run on five hits and a walk with six strikeouts over 6.2 innings.
Matt Grabmann allowed a run on two walks and three hit batters over 2.0 innings and Jackson Pace allowed two runs on five hits and a walk and struck out four over 3.0 innings for UO, which was swept at home for the first time since April 18-20, 2019 against then-No. 2 Stanford.
