Oregon forward Grace VanSlooten will compete for the USA Women’s U19 national team.
VanSlooten was one of 12 players selected from the group of 24 who tried out this weekend. The team will return to Colorado Springs for training camp on July 2 ahead of the 2023 FIBA U19 Women’s World Cup, which is July 15-23 in Madrid, Spain.
VanSlooten is joined on the team by Madison Booker (Texas), Aalyah Del Rosario (LSU), Jadyn Donovan (Duke), Joyce Edwards, Hannah Hidalgo (Notre Dame), Londynn Jones (UCLA), Chloe Kitts (South Carolina), Talana Lepolo (Stanford), Cotie McMahon (Ohio State), Kiki Rice (UCLA) and Allie Ziebell (UConn).
The U.S. is in Group B, along with Chinese Taipei, Germany and Mali in the 16-team event. Team USA has won the gold at the competition in eight of the last nine events, including the last two.
