Former Oregon defensive tackle Haloti Ngata is once again on the ballot for induction into the College Football Hall of Fame.
Ngata is among 78 players and nine coaches from the Football Bowl Subdivision and 101 players and 32 coaches from the divisional ranks on this year’s ballot, the National Football Foundation (NFF) and College Hall of Fame announced Monday. He was also on last year’s ballot.
In 2005, Ngata became UO’s first consensus All-American since 1962 and the first player in program history to be named Pac-12 defensive player of the year. He was a finalist for the Nagurski and Outland trophies in that season.
The announcement of the 2024 College Football Hall of Fame Class will be made in early 2024 and the class will be officially inducted during the 66th NFF Annual Awards dinner on Dec. 10, 2024. Each inductee will also be honored at their respective schools with an NFF Hall of Fame on-campus salute during the 2024 season.
Former Linfield coach Paul Durham is among the coach candidates on the ballot. Durham led the Wildcats to seven conference championships from 1948-67. He was named NAIA coach of the year in 1962 and is a member of the Oregon Sports, Helms Athletic and NAIA Football Coaches halls of fame.
