Please consider repairing and reinforcing the historic lamp posts in the parks instead of just taking them out to the landfill, (“Lights out: Portland to remove hundreds of ‘unsound’ lampposts from popular parks,” Feb. 22). This type of action is so typical of our throwaway society. These beautiful lights are a treasure and worth the effort to restore.
