The interesting article on the 28 National Merit winners in Oregon mentioned that the “winners [are] increasingly from outside Portland area,” (“Oregon’s National Merit Scholarship winners increasingly hail from outside Portland area,” June 21). What you failed to point out is that 26 of the 28 winners are attending universities outside of Oregon. What does that say about our state university system?
