“The Bachelor” continues Season 27 Monday (Feb. 20), but the trailer for Episode 5 ratchets up the drama, as host Jesse Palmer mysteriously announces he has “some really bad news.” And here we thought the bad news about this season is that Zach Shallcross isn’t the most exciting star “The Bachelor” has ever seen.
(How to watch: “The Bachelor” airs at 8 p.m. Mondays on ABC. No cable or antenna? You can live stream the show on Fubo TV, which offers a free trial. You can also live stream “The Bachelor” via DirecTV Stream, which also offers a free trial.)
But that likely isn’t what Jesse is referring to in that oh-so-ominous clip from tonight’s episode. So, what’s going on? Here’s the synopsis: “Zach and the remaining women head to London for another week of adventure; Zach is in a never-before seen scenario which could drastically alter the journey ahead.”
Hmmm. What might that be? Did somebody get COVID? Did Zach decide he just doesn’t go for any of the women? Did the women unanimously decide they just don’t go for Zach?
Unlikely. No matter what happens, any viewer of “The Bachelor” knows that the show must go on. And that means countless more mentions of the word “journey.” Oh, and don’t forget the tears. They’re flowing in the trailer, so you know more are on the way.
We already know that Zach is big into the women being on the show for “the right reasons.” Last week’s episode saw one of the bachelorettes getting the heave-ho when other women told Zach she seemed more interested in getting social media followers than she was in finding true love, or continuing the journey, or whatever.
What will the “really bad news” turn out to be? We’ll find out (maybe) on “The Bachelor” episode that airs at 8 p.m. Monday, Feb. 20 on ABC.
