Memphis Grizzlies guard Dillon Brooks said before the playoff series that he “wouldn’t mind playing LeBron (James) in a 7-game series.”
Brooks got his wish. The Grizzlies are taking on James and the Los Angeles Lakers in a first-round series in the NBA playoffs. The Grizzlies were looking to win Game 2 after losing to the Lakers in Game 1.
Brooks made a 28-foot, 3-point shot and then stared down James as the two jogged down the court during the fourth quarter of the Grizzlies’ 103-93 win Wednesday night.
Brooks’ basket helped the Grizzlies tie the series 1-1. Brooks made 5 of 14 shots – including 2 of 6 from beyond the arc – on his way to scoring 12 points in 23 minutes. James finished with 28 points on 12 of 23 shooting.
The series resumes with Game 3 scheduled for Saturday in Los Angeles.
