The three women who died in a crash in Southeast Portland last Thursday have been publicly identified.
Hannah Fetters, 18, was driving a 2015 BMW sedan with her twin sister Grace as a passenger at about 9:30 p.m. when it smashed into a car driven by Julie D. Skeen, 55. The Fetters sisters died at the scene, and Skeen died later at a hospital, Portland police said.
The initial investigation suggests the BMW and a 2005 Subaru were racing on Southeast Powell Boulevard “at speeds above the posted limit,” police said. Skeen, driving a 2004 Lexus with a male passenger, was turning from 63rd Avenue onto Powell Boulevard when Hannah Fetters crashed into Skeen’s car, police said.
Police have not publicly identified the Subaru’s 17-year-old driver, who pulled over and remained at the scene. The passenger in the Lexus, who also has not been named, was seriously hurt in the crash with “not life-threatening” injuries, according to police.
No arrests have been made.
