The Portland Trail Blazers are preparing to hire ESPN NBA Draft analyst Mike Schmitz as an assistant general manager, according to a report from ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski.
Schmitz will reportedly help general manager Joe Cronin lead the franchise’s domestic and international scouting departments.
According to ESPNPressRoom.com, Schmitz spends a few months per year analyzing prospects in the United States and overseas reports data gathered on several of ESPN’s television shows, including SportsCenter, Get Up! and ESPN’s NBA Draft Combine broadcast.
