A court-ordered mental health specialist says the Oregon State Hospital should more frequently evaluate patients for release and lobby for more funding for non-hospital treatment centers to help ease its big admissions backlog.
Dr. Debra Pinals, a behavioral health director from the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services, released a series of recommendations to ease the state-run psychiatric hospital’s slow admissions and overwhelmed capacity.
