Two people rescued from chocolate tank at central Pa. M&M factory

The two people who fell into a tank of chocolate at an Elizabethtown factory have been rescued.

WGAL reported that the two people who became trapped in the tank at an M&M/Mars factory were pulled out by emergency responders this afternoon.

Earlier reports stated that the two people fell into the tank around 1:51 p.m. at the Mars facility on the 200 block of Brown Street in Elizabethtown. Early reports said they weren’t injured, but were unable to escape from the vat full of waist-high chocolate on their own.

A hole had to be cut into the tank to free the people, LancasterOnline reported. Both were taken to a local hospital by helicopter, but their conditions were not reported Thursday night.
