Draymond Green is taking a victory lap after his Golden State Warriors took home their fourth NBA title in eight years with a 3-2 series win in Game 6 on Thursday night in Boston.
One of the best parts about winning a championship for Green has been digging back into what media members, fellow players and the haters have said about you or your team during the season, and calling them out.
It started with a tweet after the game that was a tribute to Celtics forward Jaylen Brown. In January, Brown tweeted “The energy is about to shift” after knocking off Miami to break a losing streak, which started their impressive regular season turnaround. Bright and early this morning, Green tweeted “The Energy Shifted 4X” in petty fashion.

A few minutes later, he quote tweeted an ESPN post about the Celtics fans heckling him before Game 6 with a fiery response: “Yeah they should’ve ignored me today. Can’t give me the same look” with a shrug emoji.
In the midst of his firestorm, Green gave respect to New Orleans Pelicans and former Portland Trail Blazers guard CJ McCollum, who picked the Celtics to win the series:
Green then responded to a post from Skip Bayless, who seemed to misinterpret a quote from Green on his podcast. Green clarified his comments and referred fans to his show for the complete quote while asking Bayless to avoid speaking for him.
No Draymond was not basically saying that. I was basically saying what I said. If they want to know what else I said, they can listen to The Draymond Green Show. But I don’t need you to speak for me.

Then, Green back to throwing shade via tweets. One of them was for his former teammate, Kevin Durant. He did this by copying a tweet Durant posted after during a 40-16 Boston run in Golden State’s Game 1 loss to the Celtics, in which he said “High level of basketball being displayed gentlemen.” Green posted this in reference to Durant’s comment:

Green also responded to Barstool Sports founder and Celtics fan Dave Portnoy. Portnoy’s tweet toward Green and his teammate Klay Thompson was explicit. You can view the exchange here if you like.
Green’s shade went beyond the internet, however. He was seen wearing a shirt trolling the Celtics’ rally shirts that have a slogan of “It’s all about 18.” The original design has a blanket banner where No. 18 would be, but on Green’s, his filled the shirt in with “NOPE!! Maybe in ‘23.”
Regardless of how you feel about Green, make sure your Twitter account is cleaned up or you might be next on his hit list.
