Abortion services remain legal in Oregon even after the U.S. Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade, the landmark ruling that said there was a constitutional right to abortion.
Friday’s ruling does not mean abortions are illegal; the court’s decision said it was up to the states to regulate abortion services. In Oregon, there are strong protections for abortion services and the state is among those with the fewest restrictions on abortion in the country.
