We hold these truths to be self-evident: The sun will come out at some point over the long July Fourth holiday in Portland but first some rain may fall.
The National Weather Service forecast calls for patchy drizzle before noon Sunday, then a 20% chance of showers after 1 p.m. The high will be near 70.
On Independence Day, forecasters predict partly sunny skies with a high of 76.
And in case you’re wondering if you can set off fireworks in Portland, read this: Are fireworks banned or allowed in city of Portland?
And for where to watch fireworks or otherwise mark the holiday, here’s the rundown.
Morning clouds with spotty drizzled today, then partly sunny. But, showers and even a few thunderstorms for over the Cascades this afternoon into the early evening. Be prepared. Get Indoors when Thunder Roars, or Get off the Lake when Thunder Breaks. #pdxtst #wawx #wxor pic.twitter.com/rJfCuWuH9Q
