The Big Float is throwing itself a going-away party on the Willamette River

In the 20 years he spent in Portland prior to his first Big Float, Randall Baker never would have thought to go swimming in the Willamette River.

Baker says back then he used to wonder whether Portland’s second largest public space and natural area was going to catch fire.
