Faith Kipyegon of Kenya put on a show once again in the 1,500-meter final.
The two-time Olympic champion finished with a remarkable time of 3 minutes, 52.96 seconds to regain her world title at the World Athletics Championships on Monday night at Hayward Field in Eugene.
Ethiopia’s Gudaf Tsegay and Great Britian’s Laura Muir finished behind her in second and third place, respectively. Tsegay finished just behind Kipyegon with a time of 3:54.52, while Muir crossed at 3:55.28.
Former Oregon Ducks star Jessica Hull finished seventh in the race for Australia at 4:01.82.
Sinclaire Johnson, who like Hull runs for Union Athletics Club of Portland, finished just above her for Team USA at 4:01.63.
Cory Ann McGee finished 10th for Team USA with a time of 4:03.70.
