PORTLAND, OR – SheBrew, the national premiere Female-Identified Professional and Amateur Beer and Cider Competition and Festival – returns to Portland for its 8th year on Sunday, March 5th. The festival will be presented by the Human Rights Campaign and the Oregon Brew Crew and is being hosted at The Redd from 12 p.m. to 7 p.m. The event will feature more than 40 female professional brewers and 10 homebrewers from around the Pacific Northwest. Created to highlight and showcase the work of female-identified purveyors of beers and ciders, SheBrew is family-friendly festival with food, tastings, and entertainment. The Presenting sponsor is woman owned C.O.A.T. Flagging for the 5th year. SheBrew is 100% nonprofit and all proceeds go to The Human Rights Campaign to fight for Equality.
The SheBrew Festival is a place of empowerment for female-identified Professional and homebrewers where community members come together to network, share their craft beverages, and interact with consumers. More than a thousand people are expected to gather at the festival to enjoy their favorite beverages, interact with their favorite brewers, meet other brewers from around the United States, and engage with influential beverage makers. Professional Brewers at Shebrew include Lisa Allen from Heater Allen, Natalie Baldwin from Wayfinder, Anna Buxton from Steeplejack, Jen Kent from McMenamins, Tonya Cornett and Madeleine McCarthy from 10 Barrel, Whitney Burnside from Grand Fir Brewing and more. General admission into the event is thirty dollars pre-sale, thirty-five dollars at the door and includes a commemorative SheBrew tasting glass, punch card to sample and vote for “People’s Choice” homebrew, and an annual HRC membership. Additionally, VIP tickets are available for sixty dollars and provide all the general admission benefits plus a SheBrew or HRC t-shirt, ten raffle tickets and early admission to the event. There will be two women owned food carts, Marty’s Sandwich Depot and Hearth & Soul Pizza as well as a small number of local women vendors including Forge & Fire, Wick Craft Beer Candles, East Coast Vintage, and Sweet Joyness bakery. There will also be soda and games to keep the whole family entertained.
