Glencairn Crystal Studio has presented a bespoke decanter to Joy Spence of Appleton Estate in celebration of her remarkable 40 years at Appleton. Glencairn was also celebrating 40 years since being founded by Raymond Davidson in 1981.
The 2021 harvest is underway at iconic estate Ornellaia, kicking off with the first bunches of Sauvignon Blanc. The harvest at the Tuscan vineyard began on 18 August with bunches of Sauvignon Blanc grapes, though the estate’s red grapes will need another couple of weeks before they are harvested.
“The sunny and dry spell helped the white grapes to ripen in the earlier vineyards,” comments Estate Director Axel Heinz. “Over the next few days, much-welcomed lower temperatures are expected, which will create the perfect conditions to conclude the ripening and to harvest the Sauvignon Blanc and Viognier, which is likely to take place during the week of August 23.”
An award-winning range of bottled cocktails from LAIBA beverages has launched in the UK. Created by world-renowned mixologist Michael Chen, the range of eight bottled expressions include twists on popular and classic recipes, and have won awards for their taste.
The cocktails are designed for consumers to mix together in just 30 seconds.
Supermarket Waitrose is releasing a new cocktail experience for its Wine Tasting at Home service. The box is intended to give customers everything they need to enjoy the experience of visiting a cocktail bar from the comfort of their own home.
Priced at £35 per person, the box contains all the ingredients and kit to make three cocktails: an Espresso Martini, a Fresh Gimlet using Plymouth Gin and an Amalfy Sunset Spritz with Malfy Gin Rosa. Garnishes are also included. Consumers will also have the option of having a Waitrose drinks expert share their knowledge with purchasers in person or online.
