Oregon capped its trip at the Judi Garmon Classic with a late surge past San Jose State and Morgan Scott delivered a three-hit shutout of Loyola Marymount.
Alyssa Daniell and KK Humphreys hit back-to-back two-run singles in the sixth to give the Ducks a 6-2 win over the Spartans and Scott struck out eight in a 9-0 five inning shutout of LMU Saturday night in Fullerton, California.
Against SJSU, the Ducks stranded the bases loaded in the second but broke through on Terra McGowan’s two-run home run in the third.
Oregon again stranded the bases full in the fourth and SJSU got on the board in the fifth. Three straight singles ended the day for Raegan Breedlove, who allowed two runs on three hits and a walk and struck out three in 4.1 innings in a no-decision.
Hanna Delgado, McGowan and Allee Bunker all drew walks off Lacie Ham before Daniell and Humphreys drove in the deciding runs.
Stevie Hansen (11-2) allowed two hits and struck out four in 2.2 innings of relief.
Against LMU, McGowan hit a solo home run in the first to give UO an early lead.
Oregon added four in the third, one in the fourth and three off the bat of Tehya Bird in the fifth.
Oregon (16-4) ends the weekend at Long Beach State at noon Sunday.
