Oregon taxpayers who have filed their 2022 taxes and are expecting a refund can track the refund online, the state Revenue Department said. Here’s how:
You can check the status of your refund on the revenue department’s website (Where’s My Refund?) or through the department’s automated phone system at 503-378-4988 or toll-free at 800-356-4222.
Taxpayers will need to have certain information at hand to request the information. Here is the list for personal income tax refunds:
- Social Security Number or Individual Taxpayer Identification Number of the primary filer;
- Filing status;
- The exact refund amount shown on: Line 46 of their Form OR-40, or Line 71 of their Form OR-40-N, or Line 70 of their Form OR-40-P
The Revenue Department says taxpayers can’t search for refunds from amended returns, previous year’s tax returns, or one-time assistance payments.
The department said it had processed nearly a half-million refunds by March 3. Officials recommend taxpayers wait at least a week after filing to try tracking their refunds. Filing electronically speeds up processing, while filing on paper by mail tends to be slower.
The tool will show whether the tax refund has been issued electronically, whether a check has been mailed, or if their refund has been adjusted. It will also show taxpayers if there are questions about their return or their return is being manually processed.
