In this sixth episode from Season 26, Mr. Garrison returns to politics with consequences to his personal life. In the teaser trailer below you can see that Mr. Garrison is falling back into his old political habits by stoking the racism and fear that catapulted him into the presidency in previous seasons before it all came crashing down in a scandal. What has happened so far in Season 26 of South Park?
So far this season, the South Park writers have taken aim at a multitude of current events. Episode five focused on the struggles of businesses to find employees in the wake of the global pandemic. This is highlighted when Butters gets a job at a local restaurant and then Cartman tries to open his own business off the back of Butters’ hard work.
In the fourth episode from Season 26, the gang took aim at the rise of AI and the use of ChatGPT in schools and greater society. The week before that, in Episode 3, South Park took a shot at “big toilet paper” in an episode about bidet-equipped Japanese toilets, which drew the ire of toilet paper companies who tried to assassinate Stan’s dad. In Episode 2, the story poked fun at Price Harry and Meghan Markle’s media blitz in “The Worldwide Privacy Tour” where the Prince of Canada and his wife find themselves in South Park after embarking on a world tour in an effort to find some privacy and seclusion.
In the Season 26 premiere, the South Park gang took aim at Kanye West’s antisemitic tirades on social media and recent talk show interviews with a Valentine’s Day “Cupid Ye” riff for the Season 26 premiere.
