Former Oregon Ducks women’s basketball player Taylor Mikesell is headed to the WNBA.
The Indiana Fever on Monday selected Mikesell with the first pick of the second round, at No. 13 overall.
Mikesell, a 5-foot-11 guard from Massillon, Ohio, played the past two seasons at Ohio State after transferring from Oregon, where she spent the 2020-21 season. She played her first two college seasons at Maryland.
In her final college season, Mikesell helped lead the Buckeyes to the Elite Eight as she averaged 17.2 points per game while shooting 41.4% from three-point range. She shot at least 40% from beyond the arc in every college season except her lone season with the Ducks, when she shot 33.3%.
Mikesell joins a Fever team that also drafted South Carolina star forward Aliyah Boston at No. 1 overall and Indiana Hoosiers guard Grace Berger at No. 7 on Monday. The Fever also picked LSU’s LaDazhia Williams in the second round and South Carolina’s Victaria Saxton in the third round.
