A six-run fourth inning sent Oregon surging past Cal and it held on to complete the series sweep.
KK Humphreys went 2 for 3 with a two-run single that sparked the scoring rally for the No. 13 Ducks in an 8-5 win over the Golden Bears Sunday afternoon at Levine-Fricke Field that extended UO’s win streak to 13 games.
Oregon (35-11, 14-7 Pac-12) is in third place and tied with Washington, which has the head-to-head tiebreaker, with three games left in the regular season.
Down 3-0 after three, Humphreys got Oregon on the board with the first of four straight singles that plated four runs. Paige Sinicki added a sacrifice fly and Kai Luschar capped the top of the fourth with another RBI single.
Sophie Halajian (3-3) allowed five runs on six hits and a walk over 3.1 innings for Cal (31-17-1, 7-13-1).
The Bears got a run back in the bottom of the inning on a Kacey Zobac home run that make it 6-4. Cal added an RBI single from Acacia Anders in the fifth that got them within a run and ended the day for Morgan Scott (12-4), who allowed five runs, three earned, on six hits over 4.1 innings.
Oregon added two insurance runs in the seventh as Terra McGowan and Ariel Carlson hit back-to-back singles, were bunted over by Humphreys and a wild pitch and sacrifice fly drove them in.
Stevie Hansen notched her first save of the season while allowing just one hit over 2.2 innings of scoreless relief.
Oregon wraps up the regular season with a home series against Utah starting at 6 p.m. Friday.
